Everest Base Camp Gear List 2016

These are guidelines to help you pack for your trek to Everest Base Camp. I suggest you bring one large duffel bag and your daypack for the trek. You should also travel with a second small duffel. You can leave the small duffle at the hotel with your travel clothes and other things that you will not need on the trek. Pack light. Have your travel clothes washed at the hotel while you are on the trek so they will be clean when you return from your trek. Fly with your daypack, pack it with any critical items that would be difficult to replace in Kathmandu if your checked bag was lost; medications, boots, etc.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu you will need two extra passport size photos for your visa and
some cash to buy the visa ($30 USD).

There are many brands and types of clothing and gear. Usually higher quality leads to longer life of the item. Take note of items you will use again after this trip when buying new items. Things you will only use one time may be of a lower quality. Make sure things are comfortable and fit properly.Wearing new items before departure helps to proper break-in, which leads to a more comfortable experience.
